Hello everyone,
I’m proud to introduce myself as the new Commander of West Noble Post 243. My name is Matthew Johnson, and I’m a U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Nassau (LHA-4) out of Norfolk, Virginia. Most of my time in the service was spent “in the belly of the beast” working in engineering, where I learned the value of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance—values I bring with me into this new role.
It’s an honor to serve our veterans and community through this Post, and I’m excited for the direction we’re headed. My goal is to breathe new life into Post 243 by reaching out to the community, welcoming in more veterans and their families, and hosting more public events that bring us all together.
We’re already making great changes. If you haven’t stopped by in a while, I encourage you to come in—you might not recognize the place! We’ve got more food nights and dinners planned, live bands, bingo, and much more. This is your post, and we want it to feel like home for all who walk through the door.
Please follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/profile.php?id=61576157194633 You’ll find updates on events, fundraisers, and more. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions on the website—we’d love to hear your ideas.
Let’s make this a place where veterans and the community come together, grow stronger, and have some fun along the way. I look forward to seeing you around the post!
We have our monthly meetings every 1st Tuesday of each month @6pm. I encourage all Legion, Auxiliary, and SAL members to attend. Post 243 is here for all of you and your thoughts and ideas are always welcome.
Sincerely,
Matthew Johnson
Commander, West Noble Post 243
